From Unwanted to Re-loved - Every Item Deserves a Second Life.

The Salvage Yard isn’t just a place where NuGen Property Clearances take the unwanted goods they collect - it’s where furniture, quirky collectables, and everyday items are rescued, revived, and given a second chance.

When NuGen Property Clearances carry out clearances jobs across Scotland, they don’t see “waste.” Instead, we see potential. A chest of drawers might become a centrepiece in someone’s living room. A stack of chairs could find a new home in a café. Even smaller household goods can make a big difference to a charity shop or a family looking for affordable essentials. The Salvage Yard  is a constantly changing, with new additions arriving all the time.

But The Salvage Yard is more than just for shopping - it’s part of NuGen's mission. Every item brought back to the yard is given new life and saved from incineration and landfill helping reduce Scotland’s waste footprint.

We’re proud of the variety you’ll find here. Some days the yard is full of timeless antiques and collectables; other times it’s stacked with practical household pieces, quirky vintage items, or raw materials that up-cyclers can turn into something completely new.

Whether you’re a collector, a creative, or simply someone who loves a good bargain, there’s always something unexpected waiting to be discovered.

The reclamation showroom of The Salvage Yard is based at:

They are primarily open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am–1pm, but hours can sometimes vary. On top of that, they also host special open days with extended hours - perfect for browsing, treasure hunting, and grabbing those unique finds.

Every visit is different, and a chance to discover upcycling projects, vintage collections, or if you simply love finding affordable quality items.

Resales and donating works well for all involved.

Here's why NuGen collaborate with The Salvage Yard:

Our customers feel good knowing a large percentage of the items we collect are going to a good cause

It gives others the items they need at a low cost, encouraging zero waste to the community.

It is also a benefits NuGen, with saving us a little money in recycling fees and giving us pride in what we do.

Community Free Book Libraries

During house clearances, NuGen uncovered more books than charities could take. To avoid waste, we set up community book banks so others can enjoy them while promoting reuse and recycling.

Our “Take a Book, Leave a Book” Libraries are free, non profit book sharing boxes. Anyone can take or leave a book, keep one they love, pass it on, or share it elsewhere.

The libraries run on community spirit, and NuGen is happy to top them up when needed.

With several libraries now in place, we hope the project spreads across Edinburgh, The Lothians and beyond.

If you’d like to host one, please get in touch.

About

A final note – Sadly, we cannot collect your items for free to sell at the Salvage Yard. NuGen Waste are a commercial business with premises, rates and employees to pay, our salvage yard is an added bonus that we are able to help charities outwith our line of work.
